Current funding

The site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content at the time of writing. It is small, cheap to run, and funded by its operator.

If advertising is added

Advertising is the most likely way this site would eventually pay for itself. If it is introduced:

• Ads will be visually distinct from the calculators and from our own writing.
• The advertising network will be named in both our privacy policy and our statement on cookies before the first ad is served.
• Advertisers have no input into which calculators exist, what results they produce, or what our pages say.
• We do not control which specific ads a network shows you and do not endorse them.

Affiliate links

We use none today. If we ever link to a product and earn a commission, the link will be marked as an affiliate link at the point of use, and the price you pay will be unaffected. We will not turn reference pages into disguised sales pages.

Sponsored and paid content

We do not accept payment for a mention, a link, a review or a guest post, and we do not publish content written by anyone with a commercial interest in it. Emails offering this get no reply. If a sponsored item is ever published, it will be labelled as such at the top of the page.

Editorial independence

The formulas, constants and worked examples on this site are chosen for accuracy alone. Where more than one convention exists, such as the US and imperial gallon, we show both rather than picking the flattering one.
