What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so it can recognise the browser on a later visit. Related technologies include local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. This policy covers all of them.

What we use

Nothing. There is no analytics package, no session cookie, no preference cookie and no local storage. Every calculator holds its state in memory only, which is why your figures disappear when you close the tab. That is a deliberate design decision, not an oversight.

Third-party requests

There are effectively none. Typefaces, stylesheets, scripts and images all come from this domain, so loading a page makes no request to any third party at all. The only possible exception is a strictly necessary cookie set by our hosting provider for load balancing or bot protection; such cookies carry no identifying profile, expire quickly, and are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive.

If advertising is introduced

The site carries no advertising today. If it ever does, advertising cookies will be involved, and we will name the network here, update this page before the first ad is served, and show a consent banner where the law requires one. You would be able to refuse non-essential cookies and still use every calculator normally.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking all cookies will not break anything on this site. Note that browser settings apply per device and per browser, so a change on your phone does not affect your laptop.
